• "DIS," by Kelly Hargraves, Greg Hopen and Lori Tres McLean, Iris Art, NYC, USA. An experimental video that combines the gestures and expressions of dance with distorted, complex urban landscapes to address issues of alienation, connection, loss, and distress.

• "A Study in Choreography for the Camera" by Maya Deren. This landmark 1945 film by avant-garde artist Maya Deren combines still life, modern dance, and experimental camera techniques to investigate the art of movement on film.

• "29 Effeminate Gestures," by Tim Boxell, SAN FRANCISCO, CA, USA, featuring Joe Goode Performance Group. This video features the multiple talents of the Joe Goode Performance Group dancing to spoken word and ambient garage sound as they ponder the meaning of love and loss.

• "Second Nature," by Daniel Conrad, Rhodopsin Productions, Ltd., VANCOUVER, BC, CANADA. A non-narrative video that blends optical effects with multiple dancers to explore the image of the body in motion.

• Excerpts from "The World's Young Ballet," (no director credited). A black and white documentary showing a very young pre-defection Mikhail Baryshnikov competing in (and winning) the 1969 International Competition of Ballet Artists in Moscow.

• "Inside Out," by David Michalak, SAN FRANCISCO, CA, USA, featuring Kate Foley Company and Club Foot Orchestra. This collaboration between local filmmaker David Michalak, the Kate Foley Company, and Club Foot Orchestra is an expressionistic film that illustrates a dancer's attempt to continue performing despite severe mental illness.

• "SandDance," by Cynthia Pepper & David Drewry, SAN RAFAEL, CA, USA. Featuring dancers from Marin Ballet, this film was shot outdoors on a deserted California beach, and plays with the textures of water, sand, and the human body in a multi-sensory modern dance.

• INTERMISSION (previous group of films runs 69 minutes).

• "Nine Variations on a Dance Theme" by Hilary Harris. A black and white film documenting the traditional compositional concepts of theme and variation as they are applied to contemporary dance.

• "CRWDSPCR" by Elliot Caplan, Choreographed by Merce Cunningham, Featuring the Cunningham Company and Produced by the Cunningham Foundation. The Grand Prize Winner of the 1996 Dance on Camera Festival, this video documents the creative process of world-renowned choreographer Merce Cunningham as he creates a new dance inspired by a computer program. This is a candid look at the inner workings of the Cunningham Company, following the choreographer and his dancers through inspiration, adaptation, rehearsal, costume fittings, performance, and even what they eat for lunch! (This group of films runs 65 minutes.)
